3 Scary Good Cocktails You Need to Make This Halloween

Spooky season is HERE. Have you spent all year perfecting your costume, or are you counting down the days until November 1st? Halloween is a polarizing holiday, but love it or hate it, you’ll want to try out these fun drinks. Keep reading for three Halloween cocktails you can make for yourself or a crowd!

  1. Devilishly Spicy Bloody Mary

Demitri created his Chipotle Habanero Seasoning for the pepper-heads out there. It packs some serious heat alongside complex flavor thanks to habanero, smoky chipotle peppers, and other hand-selected spices. And on Halloween night, it’s the perfect base for a spicy Bloody Mary that’ll knock your socks off (and your cat ears, too). The garnish is where you can really let the spooky shine. You can find Halloween cocktail picks and drinkware in the party supply section while you’re picking up extra candy because you snacked through your stash. You can make mini eyeball garnish skewers with some mozzarella balls and black olives, or try “mummy dogs” with this recipe from Pillsbury. Blaze’s Beans also make great witches’ fingers.

To make: This guide shows you how to whip up large batches of Bloody Marys. Use Chipotle Habanero Seasoning for that devil’s kick!

  1. Jack-o-Lantern Margarita

This is a treat for the Halloween lovers who are more Hocus Pocus and less Nightmare on Elm Street. You’ll use orange juice (freshly squeezed if you’ve got time!) to get the vibrant color. If you’re hosting, we recommend making jalapeño-infused tequila for a spicy option and letting guests choose their favorite. You’ll want to start prepping the tequila at least the day before to let the flavors come together. Slice a jalapeño, leaving the seeds in for more spice. Add the sliced jalapeño to a jar with a lid, pour tequila on top, and let it sit. When your tequila is nice and infused, pour it through a strainer to remove the jalapeños. Then you’re ready to mix!

To make: Start with a standard margarita. This recipe is our go-to! It’s got tequila, Margarita Mix, and a bit of Cointreau. Add about 2 ounces of OJ per drink (you’ll get 2-3 ounces out of a standard orange). Save the peel to make jack-o-lantern garnish with the help of a cookie cutter.

  1. Pomegranate Margarita

We had to throw a bone to the Halloween haters out there (don’t worry—it’s not a skeleton bone). This drink can be spooky if you want it to be… or simply a refreshing marg with a bold color.

To make: Start with your classic marg as the base, then add 2 ounces of pomegranate juice per glass or to taste. Use Demitri’s Margarita Rimshot for the rim and sit back and relax in the knowledge that November 1st is only hours away.
