Bloody Mary & Demitri’s Gourmet Mixes Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the story? Is there a “real” Demitri?
Yep. Demitri was born in, bartended in, and still lives in Seattle. As a bartender, he only served fresh, handmade Marys. In order to keep the recipe consistent, he was preparing mix in batches, but if he made too much, it would spoil. If he didn’t make enough, they would run out.
Needing a way to serve killer handmade Bloody Marys correctly, no matter how busy the bar was, he made his first Seasonings. All the bartenders had to do was add tomato juice. Any of his fellow bartenders could make one Bloody Mary at a time or gallons in no time. Perfectly consistent, and fast!
Demitri’s bartender friends in Pioneer Square were his first customers in Seattle. After batching up a few cases in his kitchen, he made a few visits to a few other Seattle bars and never looked back.
