We may not be able to agree on much, but we can agree that margaritas are worth celebrating.
From Taco Tuesday to happy hour to dinners al fresco, margaritas are the MVP of tequila drinks. In honor of National Margarita Day, grab your friends, grab your margarita mix, and let’s get to celebrating.
The only downside? It can be tough to find enough fresh limes for margaritas this time of year. And who has the time to sit around squeezing all of them? Save your arm workout for the gym and use the best margarita mix from Demitri’s instead. Our mixes taste as good as if you squeezed the limes yourself but without the effort. We know premade mixes can get a bad rap. They’re often too sweet, too artificial tasting, too blah. Our mixes have real, simple ingredients without preservatives, high-fructose corn syrup, or gluten. Both our Organic Traditional Margarita Mix and our 38 Calorie Margarita Mix have perfectly balanced, multidimensional flavor—not too sweet, not too bitter. Just a delicious margarita the way it was made to be enjoyed.

Get the basics right
You can’t go wrong with a classic margarita, and it couldn’t be simpler to make a big batch of it. All you need is your Demitri’s mix of choice, tequila, Cointreau or Grand Marnier, and salt rimmer. If you’re not sure what type of tequila to use, go for a mid-level reposado (and check out this blog for more tips and tricks).
This recipe can easily be scaled up to accommodate a party of any size. Just use a big pitcher to stir everything up well.
Ingredients:
Lime wedge
Demitri’s Margarita Rimshot Rim Salt
2 ounces tequila
3 ounces Demitri’s Margarita Mix
¼ to ½ ounce Cointreau or a dash of Grand Marnier
Ice
Directions: Gently moisten your glass with lime, then press into a saucer of Rimshot. Mix tequila, Demitri’s Margarita Mix, Cointreau, and ice. Shake to combine. Pour into a glass and garnish with lime.
Add fun, festive options
Any day is a good day for a marg. For National Margarita Day, you’ve gotta bring your A-game. Here are some of our favorite ways to add some pizzazz:
-
Jalapeño-infused tequila (the longer you let the jalapeños soak, the bolder the flavor!)
-
Blood orange juice
-
Pineapple juice
-
Pomegranate juice
-
Mezcal in place of tequila for a smokier flavor
Margarita garnishes
Since you didn’t have to use up your precious limes, now you can use them as garnish. And a margarita isn’t ready until it’s rimmed in salt to complement the bright citrus of the cocktail. If you’re skipping this step at home, you’re doing it wrong. Demitri’s Margarita Rimshot Rim Salt has pomegranate, pineapple, lime, and a touch of chili pepper to make your drinks taste—and look—as good as the ones you get at your local Mexican restaurant.
You don’t have to tell us twice to celebrate one of our favorite cocktails. Happy National Margarita Day (as if you needed an excuse)!
