ABC (A Better Cocktail) Is As Easy As 1, 2, 3
We aren’t clairvoyant, but we’re going to go out on a limb and say that you (or your guests) enjoy a good Bloody Mary or Caesar. Crafting a Bloody Mary is both an art and a science, so in today’s blog, we offer three simple ways to improve your Bloodys with a little tinkering.
Tip 1: Use quality tomato juice.
Tomato juice is the foundation of any good Bloody, and bad tomato juice ruins a drink faster than you can say “Worcestershire.” Bad tomato juice can turn stomachs, while quality juice can create Bloody Mary converts. Some tomato juice brands are loaded with sugar, while others include additives; some straight up taste like Campbell’s soup. When the base ingredient is quality, the beverage can truly shine. RECOMMENDATION: Bianco DiNapoli is one of our favorites for an organic, high-quality tomato juice. It’s available in convenient 46-ounce cans for busy brunch days.
Tip 2: Don’t eyeball ingredients.
It’s science! Bloodys play well because each of the ingredients—from the heat of horseradish to the citrusy tang of lemon—complement the rest. But eyeballing ingredients is a recipe for disaster. Even if you’re really good at guesstimating, it pays to measure each component for the perfect Bloody Mary.
Tip 3: Use Demitri’s Bloody Mary Seasonings.
Maybe you’re clairvoyant because you knew we’d say this, right? There’s a reason Demitri’s has won dozens of awards and is adored by bartenders and DIYers alike: Quality. Demitri’s line of seasonings has something for every palate, with our Classic Recipe, Extra Hot, Chipotle, or Extra Spicy Options.
But don’t just take our word for it. Greg of @How2Drink did a very scientific taste-taste of mixes on the market, and he agreed that Demitri’s Classic Recipe hits all of the notes he wants in a Bloody Mary. Skip to the 17-minute mark to see for yourself.
Whether you’re slinging drinks for yourself at home, tailgating with your team, or running a busy bar program, quality ingredients in the right ratio is a surefire way to end up with a solid Bloody Mary every time. Include Demitri’s in your lineup.
